HEY LOOK GUYS I MADE A NEW OC. Holy crap. This only happens like... once in a blue moon. For 's villain contest, wish me luck~! Thanks to ~Kirokokori and ~citrus-rain for giving me pointers to design him! :3 Even if he doesn't win, you'll see him again... I guarantee it...


Name: Doctor Zed aka Noah Carpenter

Age: Somewhere in his late twenties

Height: 6'

Weight: Extremely light, as he often forgets to eat. When he does eat, all he eats is sugar.

Likes: SCIENCE, Barbara Manatee, cookies, his coat, the periodic table, building things, the idea of winning, cake, baking, anything sweet, daytime talk shows, video games, movies, eighties music and techno (though he only knows like three songs. Techno makes him feel "more science-y"), the color blue, fish, sharks, anything aquatic really

Dislikes: His real name, people getting his name wrong or saying "zee" instead of "zed" for the letter Z, always losing, THE SPECIAL TWINS, his rival Captain Cadaver who is a far superior villain, any food that isn't spicy, vegetables, people teasing him, water, plants, the outdoors in general, brushing his hair, the fact that his minions rarely listen, people telling him he's not a very good villain.

Personality: Zed isn't really a terribly bad guy. Because of his position in his show, he's hell bent on trying to be what he perceives as "villainous", but he's very bad at what he does. Generally his idea of villainous just means "trap the good guys and steal something ridiculous" and he always fails. The reason he always fails is partially because he's just unlucky and partially because of a subconscious need to do so, a sort of cartoon instinct. If he does start to succeed, generally his conscious will kick in and he'll put stuff back. If he were to actually "win", he wouldn't have any clue what to do with himself. He is very innocent and understands little about the real world. Things like death and real violence honestly confuse him.

When he's not "on the clock" he is generally a decent guy and spends his time baking cookies, hanging out with his plush manatee Barbara and being a complete loser. In spite of his constant failures, Zed is very arrogant and overconfident. He is convinced he is smarter than everyone else and is always right, even though he is none of the above. He is intelligent, but only when it comes to making his inventions. In regards to everything else, he's a complete idiot and is insanely gullible. He is always acting very exuberant and always seems to be putting on a show of sorts, another "instinct". If someone else takes the spotlight from him, it bothers him a lot. He is prone to bouts of jealousy.

He's a complete pansy and really hates the outdoors. He has allergies, so... yeah, don't send him outside if you don't want a sneezing fit.

History: Noah Carpenter started off of as a relatively normal young Canadian nerd with a single mom who teased him and a whole slew of Veggie Tales videos. Then the Hot Pocket Incident happened. Just what said incident entailed, we have no idea, because the writers of Zed's show were terrible. Either way, this inspired him to take up a life of crime and become Doctor Zed (He chose "Zed" because usually the letter X is used to stand for future stuff, so he figured "Z" is MORE SCIENCE-Y), so he went on to become a reoccurring, bumbling villain on the show The Special Kids. He spent his days trying desperately to defeat his enemies, The Special Twins, who were a pair of perfect little kids who always got perfect grades, were nice to their parents and generally were annoying little twats. He was also constantly being upshown by his rival, Captain Cadaver, an actual competent villain with a hoard of willing zombie minions under his control. Life was mildly depressing for Zed.

This his show was cancelled.

Zed didn't take it very well. The idea that he was never going to get the chance to defeat his nemesises was too much for him. His denial was so great, he ended up getting transferred to the real world. Now he's desperate to return to his world and will do anything and work for almost anyone to do it. Of course, he has no idea his "world" was a cartoon and he has no home to return to...

Time Scythe Stuff: In this crazy continuity, Zed was approached by everyone's favorite Creepy Dude in Green shortly after he appeared in the real world. He was promised he would one day be returned to his world if the scientist spent some time working for the Dude in Green. Zed, upon making the connection that these were REAL VILLAINS YEAH, gladly took him up on the offer.

He has no idea just how much deep crap he's in.

His relationship with the bad guys varies. He actually thinks Konrad is really cool and he's constantly trying to be as cool as him... he, of course, usually fails. Konrad most likely finds him to be utterly annoying. Zed also likes to go and visit Maxis in the labyrinth and bring him cookies when he can get away with it.

Zed's primary function is building inventions for the bad guys. He is capable of building just about anything, since his "science" is based off of cartoon science. Whatever you can imagine, he can build, and usually if he's not using it, the invention won't backfire. Of course, since it's made by a cartoon character, it might have some interesting side effects or extras...

He also acts as a reoccurring villain of sorts. He builds traps and will fight the heroes, but he'll always lose. If he ever actually catches the boys, he'll feel really confused.

Then, of course, there's his other form... but more on that later.

Strengths: As I mentioned, the limit to his inventions is only his own imagination. These inventions can be made very quickly and can do just about anything, and will usually work until his own luck and failures come into play. In the hands of someone else, his inventions can be very dangerous. He is quite good at making death traps... though they're only "death traps" by a Saturday morning cartoon's standards. He has swarms of robot minions, all of which are based off of sea creatures. He also has his remote control, which can summon random things from other TV channels. FEAR THE POWER OF THE PSYCHO LAZY FROM SOME GENERIC REALITY TV SHOW, AHAHAH. If people can get past all this, he has a pair of bracers on his arms which generate short blasts of electricity. He is very agile and decent at dodging attacks, and can survive far more than the average person due to being a cartoon character. He can also follow cartoon physics to a certain extent. He is very good at getting himself out of tight situations, since he always needs to survive to be around for another episode and all.

Weaknesses: Zed's greatest weakness is his own bad luck and instinct to lose. In his own hands his inventions will always backfire on him or someone will hit the self destruct button, his minions often refuse to work with him, are insanely lazy and will go do something else halfway through a job, his remote control is completely random and his bracers often short out due to him spilling soda on them. The other major thing is water. Zed already preferred to avoid water due to his bracers, but now that he's in the real world he's just a giant electrical signal. If you get him wet or toss him in water, it will seriously mess up his system and is potentially the only way to actually kill him. Outside of water, he will start to short out if he ever gets upset, which means he won't be entirely corporeal and his thoughts become jumbled and disoriented. He is also allergic to pretty much anything green. Being outside in nature is no picnic for him. He is also very gullible, is easily distracted and with his nice guy attitude he's just a complete failure of a villain.

Then there's this other side...

Apparition Form

Zed's existence is very shaky. Really, someone like him should not be able to exist in the real world. This is handled by his own mind. As long as he doesn't know he's not real, he's safe. However, a combination of discovering the terrible parts of the real world (i.e. death, violence, pain, etc) can seriously shake him up, and if that happens or if he's told he's not real... bad, bad things happen.

In his Apparition form, Zed is everything he isn't normally. He is cold, calculating, clever, and completely insane. Any trace of innocence or his nice guy demeanor is completely erased, and he basically becomes a psychopathic murderer. Essentially, he becomes what he perceives the real world to be. In his mind, the real world is far crazier than his world, and the only logical way to handle that is to become this. His personality is utterly mad and he's completely bloodthirsty, and he's prone to harsh, bitterly sarcastic quips and bouts of insane laughter and horribly violent jokes.

Strengths: Very fast, if he actually physically hits you it's with the force of a semi truck. His claws are razor sharp and he's quite aware of it, as well as just what he can do with them while keeping you still alive. He can walk on ceilings and walls like a spider. His death traps are now actual death traps, Very intelligent.

Weaknesses: WATER. His remote control, minions, and any inventions aside from the death traps cease to work since they're more cartoony. He will occasionally simply spaz out and start screaming and ranting. He no longer follows cartoon physics. He is constantly shorting out and when attacking, may not actually hit people due to this. His death traps may still have self destruct buttons, and any overt violence and certain objects (i.e. Barbara manatee, memories of nicer things) may help his old self to regain control...


Annnd I do believe that's all! A few random facts:

His design is based off a lightning bug.

He is totally a huge fanboy of Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog. He has no idea it's fictional.

The lighting he shoots from his bracers is blue, there was an issue in photoshop so it's a bit wonky on the ref sheet.
